Heartwork & Hearthwork

I’m Tenneson, creator of Wander School and Wandership Development

I name Wander School as a Heartwork and Hearthwork because it comes from those places within me. Heart that beats authenticity. Hearth that creates home. Wander School is invitation to that spirit and energy in you, and in humans together, for these times in which we live.

For me, to wander is to reclaim abundant life. And, to be claimed by Life. It is to interrupt modernity’s insistent scarcity and noise. It is to reopen ourselves to generous life, inner and outer.

Since the mid 1990s I’ve either created, stewarded, or joined significant bodies of group facilitation work or inner depth work. The Art of Hosting. Berkana. The Circle Way. Flow Game. Fire & Water. It means that I’ve been pretty skilled with particular approaches that are meant to lift connection and learning village — Circle, World Cafe, Open Space Technology and other Participative Leadership practices.

I also write a fair amount. I have four poetry collections available via Amazon. My most recent (2026) is When Love Brings Us Home. And a book on Circle, Gifts of Circle, that have an accompanying set of Question Cards.

Check any of that out on www.tennesonwoolf.com. Or ask me about how that work culminates in Wander School.

A Context For Wander

Each of these below set the state
and imperative
and the invitation
to wander.

Zen Phrase

This one brings it all together. It names the reality of things interwoven. And it gives us instruction — to pay attention, both to what is and to what arises.

Wander Ways
These Are The Programs

Register Now or Snoop

These are the practices and invitations — things for you to sign up for.
You can do them in any order, or hone in on two or three to repeat.
They are mostly small groups, 4-8 online. I both host and participate.

I also invite others to host, to help grow a field of practice.
Each Wander Way is easily portable to in-person gatherings and to larger groups.

Ask me about it — Wandership Development.

At this phase of my life, I recognize the need to get to the core of things. Beneath facilitation that points to learning and accomplishment,
lives in most of us a hunger for more fulfilling life and story.
Lives hunger for robust and meaningful inner and outer life.
Lives hunger for becoming and belonging.

Becoming more of who we are really meant to be.
Belonging to life and to community and to shared passion.
Most of my work these days grows from this core.
Most of my heart lives in invitation to explore and practice together.
Most of my hope lays in helping people everywhere get to a more rich inner + outer.

A Long-Teased Dream

Wander School is a long-teased dream for me, a way to restore regular insight and intuition as essentials while we humans sort our journeys, vocations, and communities. It is joy and depth in me that I wish for in and with others.

I’m a human that seeks quite big things, yet through small and regular practices. Perhaps you are that kind of human too.

Thank you for being curious about such things. I hope you find home in such offerings. We practice together, this I’ve learned.

Cost & Contributions — Thank You

Thank you for exploring and choosing from these options. I’ve created all of the programs from my heart. I offer it to you in your heart. And in the “us of us” hearts. For wisdom and good in the situations we most care about.

My general orientation with money for Wander School is “Come when you want / need; pay when you can.” It’s my way of inviting support, yet also interrupting transactional requirement. I welcome payments and gifts to sustain what needs to be sustained.

You choose from options below. Change later if you need.
Keep it simple. Keep it life-giving.

Something Else — Offer What You Can; Imagine What You Need

You got it. You name it. Let’s have a conversation.

Becoming & Belonging

At the heart of Wander School lies these two values. These two yearnings — becoming and belonging.

Becoming who we wish to be. Becoming who we are meant to be. Recognizing our fluidity, our need to practice. Learning. Forgetting. Learning again. In relationship with everything. Flying. Falling. Regretting. Celebrating. Insight and intuition. Plans and accomplishments. Re-storying ourselves to celebrated presence and flow with Life.

Belonging to the human condition. To similarity and to difference. To community. To wonder. To aliveness. To spark of yes. To Life flowing. To Life challenging. To Life inviting. To a centering gravity and magnetism. To an identity of purpose and imagination.

Words From Wanderers

From a few regular Wanderers
that both participate and help to create the practice.

Each time we wander together, I am moved by the sincerity, tenderness and the depth of sharing and connection – affirming the wholeness that we are – human beings journeying together. Grateful to be part of this gentle space held by Tenneson.

Elif Poshor,
Turkiye

I love wandering together in conversation. I love the gentle stirring it creates, the echoes that ripple. Each conversation opens up new nuances and perspectives.

Nadia von Holzen,
Netherlands

I love Wander School for its relentless insistence that there is medicine in every moment and that ordinary things, spoken out loud and witnessed by others, become sacrament. When my shadows cry out, “come and get me,” the community shines a light on the knowing I already carry. Wandering isn’t the absence of direction. It’s how grace finds me.

Rev Wendy Miller Olapade,
Massachusetts, USA

Wander School helps me check in with myself in surprising depth but in a way that is also delightful and life-giving. I love the variety and sensory stimulation of Wander School — sound, visual richness, bodily engagement, human connectedness, language that can be profoundly simple and also exquisitely elegant — a feast in every encounter.

Saoirse Charis Graves,
Colorado, USA

I love Wander School for it’s witnessing and nurturing of the real.

Human To Human Blog

Blogging is regular practice for me. Most often three times per week. Sometimes short snippets. Sometimes poems. Sometimes images. Sometimes stories. Sometimes interesting materials that come my way from others — it’s very much a Wandership thing for me. Blogging is one of the ways that I “learn in public.” I think. I feel. I wonder. And invite you to join a conversation.

My Human To Human blog has been housed for many years on my Tenneson Woolf Consulting website. So as not to loose all of the hyper links, I’m keeping it there. Please visit there. And sign on to get regular posts and announcements.

Wander School
Wandership Development

Start somewhere. In any of the Wander Ways.
For a single session, or several for regular practice.
Follow your gut.
I’ll welcome you.
Others will welcome you too.

Get here, “here-ing,” more of you to more of Life moving.
It’s the primary work for many of us.
So much of the need is further integration of inner meeting outer.
And vice versa.
Here, the present moment.

Your sincerity will most prepare you.
And your willingness to both share stories and hear others stories.
Together we listen for pattern, and with intuition.

You can also reach me by email me.
And then likely a zoom for coffee (zoffee).
We can explore what most aligns together.
